The Citi Fitness campaign is an global employee engagement platform designed to track participant activities over 5 week durations each summer
For the launch in 2012 Citi distributed kits including pedometers and exercise equipment to the first employees who entered the challenge. Participants were then instructed to enter activities daily, the system would then encourage them to improve by different percentages based on their activity level.
The Fitness Challenge was deployed globally to 260,000 employees. With over 40,000 participants it was the most successful single employee engagement to date.
Flow charts were created to understand interface states as the challenge progressed.
User flows were used to convey user intention and behavior to designer and development teams
Functionally annotated wireframes were created for review before going into visual designs
